Frequently asked questions
Looking for the right assistance can be a daunting task. While we always prefer to talk one on one and spend the time talking with you, we thought it might be helpful to post some of the most frequently asked questions that new clients have when looking for some assistance
Many health benefits programs cover the costs of home care services like a respite worker, PSW, etc. We can assist you in completing all required forms to get the care you or your loved one needs. All ministry funding is accepted. If you are not sure if you qualify for funding our staff can assist you with finding out if you are qualified.
To find out if you’re covered, contact Leen On Me and we will help you navigate the process to get you started right away.
We recommend scheduling an initial consultation as it gives the client and their family an opportunity to tell us about themselves, what your goals and interests are and what supports and services you would like to receive to best meet your needs. We will also discuss scheduling and funding options during this meeting to ensure our clients are aware of all the available options. This time also gives our visiting coordinator an opportunity to make sure the environment is safe for both the client and caregiver and to recommend any necessary changes or equipment needed to provide the services required.
Consultation over video chat is available
This is one of the most common questions we hear from our clients inquiring about our services. You as the client determine what days and times are best for you. We know that a bond is built between our client and their caregiver. Our goal is to always have the same caregiver provide the services requested. While we always like to train a backup caregiver, your primary caregiver is the one who knows you best and is able to provide the best care. For services requiring a caregiver for more than 8 hours a day, you will need more than one caregiver to complete the scheduled services.
Our goal is to always ensure that our clients and their caregiver are a good match and fit well together. We understand that sometimes two personalities may not fit together for various reasons, in these situations we will try our best to resolve the issues immediately. If you have any questions, or concerns about your care plan or would like to request a change to your care plan please contact your Leen On Me care coordinator and they will be able to provide you with the information need.
Making changes to your support schedule is never an issue. You will not be billed for services you do not use, or penalized for suspending care. Many of our clients use our services daily or weekly. Our services are very flexible, it is based on your needs, whether that’s every day or once a year is up to you. Joining Leen On Me gives you peace of mind knowing that support is always available when you need it.
Supports and services that have been booked are always guaranteed. We will contact you as soon as possible and discuss providing an alternative caregiver unless you say otherwise. With most of our clients, we train a backup caregiver who is familiar with their needs and routine that can provide care in case of an emergency.
You will work with Leen On Me staff to create a Client Care Plan that details your needs and interests and how we can best support you in reaching your goals. This can be updated at any time and we encourage clients to contact us if there are any changes, special requests, successes, or challenges you would like to share. Having the most current and up-to-date information ensures we can provide the best care that is right for you.
Payments accepted include direct ministry funding, personal cheques, private insurance, and electronic payments (i.e., e-transfer and bank transfer). Please contact our office if you have any questions regarding payment.
